Modern and Abstract
Photocollage, or what I call Modern Collage, has been around since the first image appeared on photographic materials. The technique was named "photomontage" by a group of artists known as the Berlin Dadaists in 1918. They used the technique primarily as a means to convey thoughts and ideals in a graphic, if sometimes strange, manner.
Rather than using the traditional paper cut & paste, my modern collage uses forms of my manipulated photographs, either in layers or digital cut & paste, often combined with elements of glued paper or layers of printing.
